Another way in which the Digestive Health Clinic works to optimize the management of each patient’s need is through its participation in clinical research. Under the umbrella of the Digestive Health Clinic you will find our full service clinical research facility known as DHC Research. DHC Research has been involved in many clinical trials over the past five years. We have experience in diverse therapeutic areas such as gastrointestinal, respiratory, infectious disease and rheumatology.
The focus of DHC Research is on bettering the health of those individuals afflicted with gastrointestinal and respiratory problems. Participation in a research program is an excellent alternative to standard medical practices as it provides the patient with access to the newest medications and/or procedures.
Our clinical research staff are all Good Clinical Practice (GCP) trained with experience in over 20 Phase II – IV trials. DHC Research is consistently amongst the top recruiting sites for both Canadian and International studies. Our clinic is able to use central ethics, has on-site phlebotomy and a large storage area for medication and documents.
We are currently recruiting patients who are suffering from the following:
- Moderate-to-severe Crohn’s Disease (diagnosed >4 months ago)
If you are 18 years of age or older and interested in participating in a research study offered at the Digestive Health Clinic, please contact the Research Coordinator at (905) 707-5007 ext. 209 between 8am and 4pm.
