Clinical Research
Yet another way in which the Digestive Health Clinic works to optimize the management of each patient’s need is through its participation in clinical research. Our full service clinical research facility is known as DHC Research. DHC Research has been involved in many clinical trials over the past five years. We have experience in diverse therapeutic areas such as gastrointestinal, respiratory, infectious disease and rheumatology.
The focus of DHC Research is on bettering the health of those individuals afflicted with gastrointestinal and respiratory problems. Participation in a research program is an excellent alternative to standard medical practices as it provides the patient with access to the newest medications and/or procedures.
Our clinical research staff are all Good Clinical Practice (GCP) trained with experience in over 20 Phase II – IV trials. DHC Research is consistently amongst the top recruiting sites for both Canadian and international studies.

Glutagest
DO YOU HAVE A GLUTEN SENSITIVITY?
We are conducting a clinical research study to investigate the efficacy of Probiotic ES1 in alleviating symptoms of gluten sensitivity (gas, diarrhea, bloating, fatigue, etc.).
You may qualify if you are:
– Age 18 – 65
– Non-celiac but gluten sensitive
– Not taking prescribed medications
– Able to follow a gluten-free diet for 2 weeks
What is required if you qualify for the study?
1. Have two slices of bread a day for 8 days (while remaining on a gluten-free diet for the duration of the study)
2. Take 1 capsule of study medication 5 minutes before meal
3. Record your symptoms
CORE Practice
We are conducting a clinical research study to assess the effectiveness of Cortiment for treatment of mild-to-moderate active ulcerative colitis in routine clinical practice.
